I have always felt more at home on stage than at home. While that used to mean singing in the church choir and endless summer musicals, it now means speaking for clubs, committees, and organizations on the topic of story and its role in these businesses. There is a lot of flexibility when it comes to me and keynote speaking. If you have an upcoming event and want your attendees to not just survive but enjoy the presentation, we should talk. I have 15 minute, 30 minute, and one hour keynote options and can customize the nuances of the presentation to fit your needs.

I am putting the final touches on this program and am so excited to launch the full details shortly. A hint: I will be offering half or full day workshops to organizations to help discover, craft, and deliver stories. If your organization is interested in being one of the first to experience these workshops, please contact me for special pricing.
Pricing details coming soon.

One on One coaching is one of my favorite parts of what I do. Throughout the years, I have developed a heightened awareness and skill when it comes to story – especially the stories of others. Anytime I have the honor of working with a new story I get very excited, I start talking with my hands, and my cheeks get rosy – these are all good things. In my coaching sessions I work with individuals, at all levels, who have a desire to tell a better story. Some wish to become better writers, some are looking to advance in their career and want to improve their public speaking skills, some are looking to capture pieces of their own personal history. Whatever the reason, you and I will work together to discover the story hiding among the bits and pieces, the facts and fiction. I work either in person, over the phone, or via web. Regardless of what stage your story is in, regardless of your skill or experience level, please contact me so we can bring your story to life.
Coaching sessions: $75 an hour, with bulk purchase discounts.

Perhaps its weird, but I love other people’s stories. I love listening for hours, asking questions, taking notes, and finding a story where you once thought there were only scraps. I have written other’s stories for promotional purposes, for fundraising events, to bring awareness to global issues, and for other special events.
Right now, the most popular story I write is for weddings. Brides and grooms (but especially brides) spend hours upon hours, dollars upon dollars to create an event that is uniquely “them.”
From the invitations, to the gown, to the type of cake, so much thought and time go into every little detail. Trust me. I know. I’ve been there. And why not? After all, it is one of the most pivotal days of life thus far. However, where I met some challenge was when it was time to plan the ceremony. I didn’t want some cookie-cutter series of readings, verses, I do I do I’m done in 7 minutes kind of thing. Couples continue to struggle to find ways to personalize the ceremony — to make it truly a celebration of THEIR love. Fortunately, I have a solution.
As a storyteller, I find special joy in hearing the bits and pieces of the stories of others, and then putting them together in such a way that not only captures the emotion of the memories, but brings them back to life. Sharing your story at your wedding is the best way you can personalize your ceremony — because what is more you than your own story?
Want your own Wedding Story? Here’s how it works:
- We will meet by telephone or in person (if local) for an “interview.” This is where you get to tell me all about the two of you!
- We will explore different options: which stories, how many stories, what kind of style, etc.
- I will compile the stories that you have told into readings that can be shared at your ceremony. (I will be in touch during this time if I have any more questions or need clarification.)
- You will be able to read them and suggest any edits.
I will complete the stories and send you the final draft at least one month before the wedding date.- You will get married!!
Please check out the Wedding category on the blog to read pieces of stories I’ve written.

When it comes to performing, I consider myself lucky to have had some amazing experiences at some incredible venues. To give you a little background, I have been speaking for audiences large and small for over 18 years. To give you an idea of whether or not I will work for your event (though I am inclined to say I’ll work just fine), here are a few of the venues that stand out.
1. In 2000 I entered the Minnesota State Fair Talent Competition as the only storyteller. In front of 13,000 people I told a four minute version of The Golden Goose, by the Brother’s Grimm, and won second place out of over 550 competitors.
2.
In 1999 I told as a Youth Teller at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee and was invited back to the Exchange Place in 2008. In 2009 I returned to the National Storytelling Festival once again as Emcee for National Story Night. I have been a regular at the Mesa Storytelling Festival where I have told at their Late Night Stories for Adults since its beginning.
3. Since moving to the Valley of the Sun, I have told at several local venues and in Pine, Arizona at their huge annual Tellebration! event in November.
I grew up following in the footsteps of some of the greatest tellers alive. In addition to the same high standard of quality, I bring a unique voice and fresh perspective to any stage. My stories are full of life (my life), honesty and fire. My hope for every audience is laughter, reflection, and remembrance of their own stories. You can trust your festival, your attendees, and your reputation with me.
